LAUNCH & GTM

Launch with a shared definition of ready.

Connect the product release to customer value, operational readiness, and a learning plan.

Connect the product release to customer value, operational readiness, and a learning plan. Use the example as a starting point, then adapt the steps to your product, team, and evidence.

WHAT YOU’LL LEAVE WITH

A launch brief, readiness checklist, and post-launch review plan.

Before you begin

  • The target audience and customer benefit
  • Delivery scope, dependencies, and known limitations
  • Partners from product, engineering, marketing, sales, and support

STEP 01

Define who the launch is for

Describe the audience, problem, benefit, and behavior you hope to enable. Explain why someone would care now. Distinguish a technical release from the broader work of helping customers discover and adopt it.

STEP 02

Align the promise with the product

Write the core message and confirm the experience supports it. Check pricing, eligibility, availability, and limitations with the appropriate owners. Do not announce a capability that only works in a prototype.

STEP 03

Check readiness across teams

Review reliability, accessibility, documentation, support paths, onboarding, analytics, and sales or customer-success materials where relevant. Give each item an owner and evidence of completion.

STEP 04

Plan a controlled rollout

Choose a rollout approach based on uncertainty and impact. Define monitoring, escalation, and rollback conditions with engineering. A small pilot can surface issues before broader exposure.

STEP 05

Measure adoption and value

Define the meaningful first action, repeat use, and value indicators. Separate message reach, sign-ups, activation, and retained use. High launch traffic does not establish sustained value.

STEP 06

Run the learning review

Schedule a review after users have had enough time to experience the product. Compare results with expectations, inspect feedback, and decide what to fix, expand, or stop. Assign follow-up owners.

MAKE THIS PROMPT YOUR OWN

Check this launch brief against the supplied release scope. Identify unsupported promises, missing owners, readiness gaps, and unclear adoption measures. Draft a cross-functional checklist and a post-launch learning agenda. Do not invent release dates, approvals, or performance claims.

Check your work

  • Is the customer promise supported?
  • Does every readiness item have an owner?
  • Are escalation and rollback plans clear?
